Woodturning Instruction

Lipscomb University PlatterPat teaches at woodworking and woodturning clubs on the local, regional, and national level. She also offers private instruction in her studio. She has a special affinity for beginners. “I like to get them started on the right foot. I think the spirit in which you turn is important. It is good to get some help when you are just starting so you can turn peacefully and not worry about what is going to happen when the tool hits the wood.” She has taught hundreds of people to turn and they love to sing her praises.

“Before I took your class I’d try to turn something and get frustrated and quit. After your class I was able to finish something and have a good time doing it. Your philosophy of turning regularly even if it is something small has really helped me to keep on turning and improving.” Hugh Mason
