Pat Matranga
Pat (Patricia) Matranga
Artist • Designer • Maker
For more than 34 years, Pat Matranga has designed and created one-of-a-kind sculptural awards, corporate gifts, executive gifts, university ceremonial maces, and commemorative works that honor the people who matter most.
Working from her studio near Nashville, Tennessee, Pat collaborates with universities, corporations, organizations, and individuals to create meaningful, personalized pieces that celebrate achievement, express appreciation, and commemorate life’s most important milestones. Each commission is thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique story, values, and accomplishments of the recipient.
Wood is my medium. Honoring your most important people is my purpose.
In addition to her commissioned work, Pat continues to explore sculptural wood art, creating expressive pieces that push the boundaries of traditional woodturning while celebrating the natural beauty and character of wood.
Pat’s work has been featured on HGTV, regional television programs, Southern Living, and American Woodturner, the journal of the American Association of Woodturners. She received First Place in an international woodturning competition, with her winning piece, Family with Rights, featured in American Woodturner. Her work has also been exhibited in a solo exhibition at The Parthenon in Nashville.
As an educator, Pat has been a featured demonstrator at national and regional woodturning symposia and clubs throughout the country. She has taught and mentored hundreds of woodturners over the course of her career, sharing techniques, encouraging creativity, and helping others develop their own artistic voice.
Whether designing a university ceremonial mace, a sculptural award, or a one-of-a-kind executive gift, Pat approaches every commission with the same goal: to create a lasting piece that reflects the significance of the occasion and honors the people it was created to celebrate.
